The Lace Reader

Now that some of the craziness in my life has settled down, I can get caught up on some serious reading.

I started to read The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry and I must admit that I had a hard time getting into it. I'm not sure why, maybe it was the different writing style or maybe it was jumping headlong into the story. Most likely it was the distraction of everything going on in my life. Either way, once I finally was able to settle into the book, I got into it. The twists and turns of the narration was interesting, but also challenging to me. I think that I missed so much in those first pages by being distracted that I didn't pick up on the clues that it gave me in the earlier parts of the book.

I don't want to give it away for anyone that has not read it, but I do believe that it is worth picking up and entertaining yourself with for a couple hours. It is not a serial style novel that is super formulated. That alone made me like it.

Meijers has the hard cover on sale for $6. Happy reading!
