First Post

First of all: Welcome to all those that stopped by to read! I haven't really blogged in a long time and never here, but I felt it was time to return to the blogsphere.

My goal with this is to keep my family and friends that are oh so far away most of the year, up to date on the happenings in Brad and I's life. I also want to document how far Brad and I have come as a couple.

Most of you don't realize that Brad and I have been together for more than six years now. Yes, I know that is a very long time. I still can't believe it myself. I am so lucky that I have found a man that I love with no reservation, with no doubt, and with complete trust. I am so blessed that he pushes me to be better, he understands things about me that I don't even realize about myself sometimes, and he wants me to be happy.

Brad is currently working with CSX railroad as an intermodle worker. In other words, he loads and unloads containers from the trains that come through Orlando on their way to other CSX hubs. He loves his job and he is the happiest I have ever seen him at work. He truly has found his career. I am so proud of him for realizing he could have a career doing what he loved and reaching for it. The hours are not ideal, usually he is going to work when we used to come home after a night out with friends. But if it keeps him out of the insane heat for the majority of the day he's okay with that. Its hard when he works opposite of me and I don't see him for days at a time except when we go to bed, but I know that he is happy and it means I can get stuff done when he's not around!

I started working at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries here in Orlando and I have to say that selling furniture of good quality makes it easier to sell. I have been very fortunate in working for quality companies that stand behind their product. The training has been a little intense but with each passing day my confidence grows. I love the people I work with because they are like a big family. They squabble, but we all look out for each other. So freakin' nice. I just wish I knew how to speak Spanish conversationally. I am thinking about taking a class or something in the future to help me out down here.

Florida has been good for both of us after attempt number 1 in Atlanta. We were sad to leave Georgia because it gave us a piece of home, but down here we are closer to family that I have not seen much of my entire life. I hope to remedy that soon! Right now, our priority is getting back into a real home. Staying in a hotel since April 20th and it nearly July 20th, I am so ready to have my own kitchen, my own laundry room, and my own seperate living room and bedroom! We found a beautiful place with trees and a small lake in Kissimmee with a spacious 2bedroom 2bath for all the company we hope to have. The only thing is that we have to try and find time together to go furniture shopping! We have zero furniture at the moment thanks to our multiple moves in the last 9months. That's okay though because I will get to have furniture of my choosing and my tastes. I just need to convince Brad of what I want and get something that is going to freakin' last more than two years! We have the priority set as getting a sofa first (I hope to add the chair and a half with a nice ottoman from work in one shot) and then getting the new bed because we want to do some serious saving for the new mattress and bedroom set. The new dining set is low on the priority list as we don't use it very often anyway, but we've already found a set that we like so who knows.

I am excited to get to decorate again, but that is nothing compared to getting my baby back! And by baby I mean our cat Chessie whom Brad has not seen since March 15th. Brad has a lot of bottle cap to make up for in the coming weeks. Chessie will probably lose all the healthy weight he's finally gained. I have only seen him for a few days at a time here and there since April and it breaks my heart because he is like a son to us. He's been in good hands though with Uncle Mike and Grandpa. They send me pictures often so that I can see him when I miss him.

Okay, so everyone should be caught up on our lives as of now and I will probably blog when I get into the new place on July 20th when I get to sleep on my awesomely comfortable airmattress in a room with a door and a beautiful screened in balcony to sit out on! I can't wait!
