Wow, I can't believe its been over a month since I blogged. Well, let's start from the beginning...
First, we had 0 kids (that's zero) come to the apartment for Halloween. We were very disappointed. We still have candy left, but I think I will be throwing it out this week. Laffy Taffy doesn't go bad thankfully, but I am tired of seeing it in the cupboard. Next year we are probably just going to go out.
Second, Thanksgiving was sadly delayed for Brad and I this year due to the illness of Brad's grandfather that sadly passed away this past Sunday. Brad made the trip to Michigan last week and spent the week with his family. I spent Thanksgiving with my maternal grandmother that I get to see more often than I am used to and I love it. So we had our Thanksgiving yesterday. The turkey came out perfectly moist and falling off the bone, the stuffing was crispy and tasty, and taters were Divine. Now I have a big pot of soup sitting on the stove simmering away and I feel hungry all over again just smelling it. I love turkey day leftovers! I am so thankful for the family I have and I am so lucky that Brad's and my year has turned around.
Third, the first of our Christmas presents arrived today. I got my washer and dryer!!!!! It is the first time in 4 years that I have had access to my own washer and dryer. I was worried when they brought them in because they were going to be a snug fit through the laundry door and the dryer vent was a little iffy in how it would fit. However, my delivery guys were amazing and got the job done and I currently have loads going through. So far of the two loads that have completed, I am very pleased. We will be holding off putting the tree up until probably closer to the 15th as Brad's emergency trip to Michigan sapped up a little of our reserve that we were saving for the new tree. That's okay though because I will make the place gorgeous as soon as I have the time and money. Christmas presents will probably be bought and wrapped very shortly. I am very much looking forward to this holiday this year unlike normal.
And finally, the new year looks like it could be a very good one. I am going into it with a positive outlook that life is going to be good. I am going to achieve what I want, we are going to book our wedding location, and finish furnishing the apartment.
RIP Grandpa Dryer, you will be missed!
