Rushin' towards the holidays!

Well, in two and a half hours, Halloween will be over and it will be full steam ahead towards Christmas with a little pitstop known as Thanksgiving in between. I started reading my suprise Sunday paper (thank you Orlando Sentinal for the free paper) and Toys R Us has their annual toy book for Christmas in it. I remember as a kid looking forward to that so eagerly. I would start my list of wants and needs for Santa and consult with my brother about what we should ask for together. Then we would consult our friends. We'd ask them what they wanted and what they didn't. Most of those toys aren't even around anymore and that makes me a little sad. Some of them are making a comeback and I laugh.

I also started thinking about this being my last non-married holiday season. It is weird and wonderful to think that this time next year I will be married to Brad. We will hopefully be in our first house and preparing to have friends over for our renewed annual Thanksgiving Dinner party traditionally held the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I was hoping we would be up north for Thanksgiving this year, but alas, that won't be happening. Christmas.... well, Christmas will be interesting this year, but I am sure it will be wonderfully awesome next year.

Thinking about everything going on in my life in the last few weeks, I am so thankful for the real friends in my life. I have found them to be gems in a sea of rocks. I miss them truly every single day. They are the ones that when something fun happens I want to call immediately, or when I'm having a crummy day will make me laugh. I hope that if and when Brad and I make the journey to Ohio, we will be able to see each other more often. I want to be able to go out and have dinner and wine with you all and just talk about nothing. I want to go up north with my girls for a girls only weekend around the campfire drinking and having fun. That is my goal for next year for my ladies and me. I am making my New Year's resolution a little early. I resolve to make a concentrated effort to take more time with friends and family. I also resolve to watch my language a little more. I'm thinking of starting a swear jar.

I'm thinking about when I get up north, starting a weekly blog post on whatever book I'm reading. I've been reading like a crazy woman lately and have been thoroughly enjoying it.

Who wants to go to Salem, Mass. with me next year in October? I'm thinking it would be really fun and a beautiful trip. Let me know!
