Catching up in the New Year

It's been nearly a month since my last post and I have indeed been a very bad blogger the last few months. Truthfully, life has been fairly quiet since we moved back to the Midwest. Ohio has been everything I had hoped it would be for me and Brad.

This is Brad's new office. These cranes are ten stories up and what you don't see is the little cab that Brad get's to sit in to pick up the containers you see in the pictures. I am so proud of him for pursuing his dream of working on the railroad and fighting tooth and nail to get back to the midwest so that we could be with our family. Since we have been home we have had only one weekend home. Every weekend has been filled with visiting friends and family that we have missed over the last two years.

New Year's Eve we spent at Jenny and Mike's place. It was an entertaining night. The Kinect had much to do with that.

Last Monday night, a semi-truck lost one of these right in front of us and Brad's new car ran clean over it. It was the tire or the guard rail. The tire won in more ways than one.

So Brad's car is in the shop with over $2400 in damage, can I just be very grateful everything is covered under insurance because the tire damaged every major thing on the underside of the car that it could. It will not be ready until next Friday. I am so glad neither of us was hurt and that we didn't decide to junk my truck two weeks ago when it had a mechanical problem. We have decided though, it is time to seriously start saving for a new car for me, preferably one that will be good for the family we are planning to start sometime next year. In order to do that we have decided I will go back to work at least part time.

This week we also choose our photographer for the wedding and we are getting our engagement pictures done on Friday in North Baltimore! We wanted to get the pictures done there because that is where we plan to live when we buy our house and because the town is just too freakin' cute not to be included!

Until next time....
